Exploring the couch battleground between CB2 and 7th Avenue reveals distinctive aspects. CB2 offers chic and glamorous styles with a large fabric selection, catering to design enthusiasts looking for a statement piece. In contrast, 7th Avenue focuses on sustainability, guaranteeing high-quality, durable materials, and a stylish design. With CB2 lacking a warranty but providing white-glove delivery, and 7th Avenue offering a lifetime frame warranty and free returns, choosing between these brands depends on style preference, sustainability values, and desired customer service.
BRAND #1: CB2
CB2, the younger sibling of Crate & Barrel, is a modern furniture brand that pushes the boundaries of design with its innovative and eye-catching pieces. They collaborate with top designers to create a unique aesthetic that blends contemporary style with a touch of eclecticism. CB2 is known for its emphasis on high-quality materials and craftsmanship, although their pricing tends to be on the higher end. While they have set ambitious sustainability goals, the lack of a warranty and strict return policy may be areas for improvement.
CB2 | Brand Summary
CB2 offers glamorous, stunning couch options, but their nonexistent warranty, concerning return policies, and expensive delivery charges are issues that are impossible to ignore. I love so much about the presentation, the brand, and the selection, but there’s room for serious improvement in the customer focus department.
Strict return policy for custom orders (non-returnable)
Expensive delivery charges
Requires 50% non-refundable deposit on custom orders
Limited transparency regarding materials and construction details
CB2 certainly knows how to make a statement with their glamorous and stylish sofas, featuring an impressive selection of high-quality fabrics and a handy online sectional builder for those who crave a truly custom piece.
Their white-glove delivery option adds a touch of luxury to the experience, while the availability of free swatches helps you confidently choose the perfect fabric.
However, CB2's allure might lose some of its luster when you delve deeper into their policies. The lack of a warranty on their couches is a notable concern, especially considering their price point. Additionally, their return policy is quite strict, especially for custom orders, which are non-returnable and require a hefty deposit.
Ultimately, CB2 could be a dream come true for design enthusiasts seeking a statement piece, as long as you're confident in your choices and willing to forgo the safety net of a warranty.
Founded in 2022 by Billy Shaw and Josh Stinson, 7th Avenue is a relatively new player in the furniture industry, aiming to revolutionize the concept of "functional luxury." They focus solely on their modular sofa, prioritizing quality craftsmanship and sustainable practices. Their commitment to eco-consciousness is reflected in their use of OEKO-TEX certified fabrics and FSC-certified wood, as well as their emphasis on products designed to last a decade or more. Despite being a young company, 7th Avenue has quickly gained recognition for its innovative approach to furniture design and its dedication to sustainability.
7th Avenue | Brand Summary
As a furniture connoisseur, I’ve seen my fair share of sofas, and 7th Avenue has consistently caught my eye. Their sofas are not just pieces of furniture. They’re a statement. The quality of their products is evident in the craftsmanship. Each sofa is designed with attention to detail and built to last, reflecting the brand’s commitment to excellence. 7th Avenue’s customer-centric approach is another aspect that sets them apart. They understand that a sofa is more than just a seat - it’s an integral part of your home. The brand vibe is modern, chic, and inviting, much like their sofas. It’s clear that 7th Avenue isn’t just selling sofas. They’re selling a lifestyle.
Warranty doesn't cover wear and tear on cushions and fabrics
Requires assembly (white-glove service available for a fee)
Limited customization options
Limited availability outside Southern California
7th Avenue offers a unique approach to sofa shopping with their focus on a single, customizable modular design. Their commitment to sustainability and high-quality materials is evident in their product and manufacturing practices. While they offer a generous warranty and free returns within 10 days, the shipping costs and limited fabric options might be a drawback.
The modular design, though innovative, also means the sofa requires assembly, although white-glove service is available. Some customers have reported issues with fabric pilling over time. If you value sustainable practices, modern aesthetics, and a sofa that can adapt to your changing needs, 7th Avenue is worth considering, despite the limited options and potential assembly challenges.
In the battle of the couches, the crown goes to 7th Avenue for its blend of style, durability, and sustainability. With a lifetime warranty, top-notch materials, and a strong focus on the customer, they offer a compelling package that stands out in the seating arena.
