In the battle of Lumens vs. Floyd couches, Lumens shines for its wide style selection and emphasis on craftsmanship and durability, making it a premium choice for those valuing long-lasting furniture. On the other hand, Floyd's focus on unique fabric collections and stylish modern designs caters to those seeking trendy pieces. While Lumens provides a more classic approach, Floyd appeals to the fashion-forward audience. In terms of value and sustainability, Lumens slightly edges out Floyd with its USA manufacturing and wider fabric selection, offering a touch of exclusivity to buyers.
BRAND #1: Lumens
Lumens has established itself as a reputable brand in the home furnishing industry, renowned for its dedication to quality, innovation, and design. Their diverse collection of sofas, sourced from acclaimed manufacturers and designers, showcases a variety of styles to cater to different preferences. Lumens' customer-focused approach, including their seamless online shopping experience and responsive support, further enhances their appeal to discerning shoppers.
Lumens | Brand Summary
In my expert assessment, Lumens earns a solid spot on the sofa spectrum with its blend of quality craftsmanship and contemporary design sensibilities. What sets Lumens apart is its unwavering commitment to delivering sofas that not only look good but also stand the test of time. From sleek modern designs to more classic silhouettes, Lumens offers a diverse range of options to cater to various tastes and preferences. I've found Lumens to be particularly customer-focused, with an emphasis on providing a seamless shopping experience and responsive customer support.
Lumens, a leading name in home furnishings, offers a stylish selection of sofas that seamlessly blend quality craftsmanship with contemporary design. With a wide range of options to suit diverse tastes and budgets, Lumens caters to those who appreciate both aesthetics and functionality. Their dedication to customer satisfaction shines through their free ground shipping on larger items, multiple delivery options, and free fabric swatches to ensure you find your perfect match.
However, as with any brand, there are a few considerations to keep in mind. Lead times can vary, especially for made-to-order pieces, and the return process, while straightforward, involves return shipping costs and potential restocking fees. Additionally, some assembly might be required, depending on the sofa and delivery option chosen. While they facilitate manufacturer warranties, a lack of clear details about coverage and duration could be a point of improvement.
Overall, Lumens offers a compelling blend of style, quality, and customer-centric service, making them a strong contender for your next sofa purchase.
Floyd is an online-only retailer that was founded in 2013 in Detroit, Michigan. The company's first product was called the Floyd Leg and was as simple as it sounds – a leg that could transform any flat object into a table. This simple design philosophy is evident across all their products, even their website.
Floyd | Brand Summary
Floyd has a very well-designed website that also reflects the design principles of their limited couch offerings. But once you peel back the glamorous veneer, you might be disappointed by the overall quality, customer focus, and lead times. There’s a lot to love with Floyd, but the fact that they only have 3 couch options means that you’d expect them to absolutely nail everything else. Unfortunately, they fall short, especially at their price range.
The first thing you’ll notice about Floyd is how special and stylish their sofas are. And that really is the company’s main draw. They also have one of the most unique and eye-catching fabric collections we’ve ever seen. Some fabrics are recycled cotton. Others have multi-colored cross-weaves. Some are made from Norwegian and New Zealand wool. Fancy! Their signature sofa (aptly named “The Sofa”) has an industrial, reclaimed look to it. Everything about Floyd’s design sensibility is simply cool.
Floyd does provide a 1 year warranty on their craftsmanship. Customers can also purchase an extended warranty through Mulberry that provides coverage for any type of accident or damage.
Although Floyd does not offer white glove delivery options, only The Sofa requires any assembly. And even then, it’s rather simple and straightforward. You won’t have a marital crisis trying to assemble it.
But there are certainly downsides to Floyd. They have unexpectedly long lead times for their limited offering. It can often take 6-10 weeks before a couch ships out. Shipping also costs 12% of your order total (max $299).
The material quality for the price is OK if you’re buying a smaller couch. But you can easily spend $3,000+ on a Floyd couch. At that price point we’d like to see higher quality cushion fill and sturdier frames.
After scrutinizing the key aspects, Lumens takes the crown in the Lumens vs. Floyd battle. Lumens' unparalleled craftsmanship, diverse styles, and customer dedication set them apart, offering an exceptional sofa experience. With a focus on quality, longevity, and customer satisfaction, Lumens emerges as the ideal choice for furniture enthusiasts seeking both style and substance.
