In the realm of style, durability, sustainability, and overall value, Sundays emerges as a premium option for those prioritizing high-quality materials, timeless designs, and eco-conscious practices. On the other hand, Target offers diverse styles and reasonable durability, catering to budget-conscious shoppers looking for trendy and affordable seating options without compromising on style.
BRAND #1: Sundays
Founded in 2019 by four friends with a shared passion for design and functionality, Sundays has quickly established itself as a purveyor of stylish and durable furniture. Their focus on creating timeless pieces that cater to modern families is evident in their thoughtfully curated collection of sofas. The brand's commitment to sustainability shines through their use of eco-friendly materials and dedication to minimizing waste. Sundays' innovative approach to the furniture industry, combined with their customer-centric practices, has propelled them to the forefront of the market, offering a fresh and inviting alternative for those seeking to elevate their living spaces.
Sundays | Brand Summary
Sundays has a visually appealing website that exudes a sense of tranquility and comfort, mirroring the brand’s ethos. Their range of couches, though not extensive, is thoughtfully curated, offering a blend of modern and classic designs that cater to diverse aesthetic preferences. The customization options, particularly in terms of fabric choices, are commendable, allowing customers to tailor their Sundays couches to their specific needs and tastes. However, while the brand’s focus on customer experience and the quality of their products is evident, there are areas where Sundays could improve. Given the price point, the quality of materials used could be better. Additionally, the lack of transparency in customer reviews and the specifics of their return policy could potentially undermine the otherwise impressive offerings of Sundays. This Sundays review aims to provide a balanced perspective, acknowledging both the strengths and areas for improvement of the brand.

Vague information about frame construction
Sundays Sofas are like a warm hug on a chilly evening, offering a blend of modern and classic designs that exude both comfort and style. Their commitment to sustainability and high-quality,
stain-resistant fabrics is a major draw, especially for families who want to create a welcoming and worry-free living space. The added convenience of free delivery and in-home assembly further enhances the customer experience.
The brand's focus on curated designs might limit customization options for those seeking a truly unique piece, although their wide range of fabrics and configurations allows for a degree of personalization. While their 30-day return policy is generous, it's worth noting that return shipping fees can add up, and returns are only accepted in their showrooms, which might be inconvenient for some customers. Additionally, lead times can range from 3 to 5 weeks, which might require some patience for those eager to receive their new sofa.
However, what truly sets Sundays apart is their unwavering dedication to sustainability. Their use of eco-friendly materials, responsible sourcing practices, and initiatives like fabric swatch returns and furniture donations to charity demonstrate a commitment to both quality and environmental consciousness. So, if you're in the market for a comfortable and stylish sofa that aligns with your values and prioritizes a relaxing home environment, Sundays might just be your perfect match. Ah, yes, they offer free sofa assembly, too.
Target, a retail giant with a legacy dating back over a century, has long been a go-to destination for trendy and affordable products. Their mission to "help all families discover the joy of everyday life" is reflected in their bright and cheerful stores, their wide range of products, and even their collaborations with beloved designers and brands. With a focus on value and accessibility, Target's sofa collection offers a little something for everyone, from budget-conscious shoppers to those seeking stylish statement pieces.
Target | Brand Summary
Let’s cut to the chase: At the price point they “target,” Target’s sofas aren’t going to win any awards for luxury or craftsmanship. But hey, that’s not really their goal. They’re all about offering trendy designs at prices that won’t make your wallet cry. And for that, they deserve some credit. Do wallets cry? I dunno but you get the point…
Target works with MANY 3rd party sellers or couches so it’s difficult to rate an entire marketplace in a singular sense. Target’s in-house brands, like Threshold and Project 62, are surprisingly stylish and offer decent quality for the price. While they might not be heirloom pieces, they’ll definitely hold up to everyday use and look good doing it. So, on the Couch.com Potatometer, I’m giving Target a solid B+. They might not be the most luxurious or durable sofas out there, but they’re a great option for budget-minded shoppers who want to add some style and comfort to their homes. The Target app further enhances the shopping experience with features like loyalty programs, same-day delivery, and personalized shopping lists, making it easier to shop both in-store and on-the-go.
Varying quality between in-house and partner brands
Standard warranty only covers 1 year
No assembly service offered
Limited customization options
Some fabrics may not be suitable for heavy use
Target is your one-stop shop for trendy sofas that won't break the bank. With an ever-changing selection of styles and colors, they cater to a wide range of tastes and budgets.
Plus, their convenient shipping options, including same-day delivery in some areas, and a 90-day return window make shopping a breeze.
While their in-house brands, like Threshold and Project 62, offer decent quality for the price, the quality can vary between different brands and models. Be prepared to do your research and carefully consider the fabric and construction details before making your final decision.
Overall, Target's sofas are a solid choice for those seeking affordable style and convenience. While they may not be heirloom-quality pieces, they can definitely add a touch of personality and comfort to your home without emptying your wallet.
After a thorough comparison, Sundays clinches the victory with its superior blend of style, durability, sustainability, and overall value. The brand's premium quality and eco-conscious practices make it a top pick for those seeking long-lasting, stylish seating options that align with their values.
